Infrared Solutions Engineer Position:

The Infrared Solutions Engineer at SES Government Solutions serves as the primary technical authority for our cooled infrared imaging systems. This position entails offering technical expertise to clients, addressing inquiries, and collaborating with both internal departments and clients to guarantee the development and production of superior hardware and software solutions. We are looking for meticulous individuals with excellent communication abilities and a proactive approach.

  • Pre-Sales Responsibilities:
    • Identify design prospects and assist customer design initiatives
    • Respond to technical inquiries from clients in requests for quotations (RFQs)
    • Ensure client requirements align with operational objectives
    • Define solutions to bridge product/service gaps
    • Provide precise and validated client quotations
    • Maintain documentation in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
  • Post-Sales Responsibilities:
    • Deliver technical guidance and troubleshooting support for clients
    • Advise on technical solutions and their advantages
    • Lead the creation of client-driven solutions
    • Collaborate with engineering teams for alignment
    • Maintain thorough technical documentation
    • Assist clients with technology updates
    • Provide support to SES personnel
    • Communicate with manufacturing sites
    • Participate in client meetings and technical training sessions

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Entry-level candidates or recent graduates
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Organized with a keen eye for detail
  • Proven customer relations abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++ and Visual Basic
  • Experience with MATLAB and testing/measurement instruments
  • Knowledge of PCB design tools like Orcad

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally
  • Engage in physical activities such as walking, bending, and kneeling

Work Conditions:

  • Occasional travel required
  • Laboratory work constitutes approximately 30% of the role
  • Travel between local facilities may be necessary

Legal Requirements:

This position requires U.S. Citizenship and an active Department of Defense security clearance.
