Optical Solutions Engineers are highly proficient professionals with extensive expertise in all Infinera products and applications. These engineers excel in event management and take on leadership roles in the absence of supervisors. They provide escalation support for Tier II and serve as the primary support interface for customers and regional account teams.

The role of the Optical Solutions Engineer (OSE) involves planning, managing, and prioritizing critical work initiatives for the region. This includes defining and overseeing technical aspects of Method of Procedures (MOPs), developing technical strategies, and leading network upgrades and new implementations for Infinera's clientele. This position is vital for ensuring timely service delivery, enhancing service revenue, and fostering overall customer satisfaction.

This role provides technical assistance and service support to Infinera customers as they transition from initial product trials to field implementation and production stages. The OSE supports domestic and international customers in subsea, long-haul, regional, and metro carrier sectors. The OSE will manage all operational elements of the customer's network trial, deployment, and post-sales support, which encompasses fault tracking and resolving identified issues. They will collaborate with and manage support partners, develop, implement, and oversee projects, and escalate unresolved matters to the Technical Assistance Center (TAC), Tier 4 support, management, and sales account teams.

This position also contributes to ongoing process enhancements, including collaboration with internal testing, development, and manufacturing teams. The OSE is responsible for creating new field troubleshooting processes and procedures, contributing to an internal technical knowledge base, and assisting in replicating customer issues to achieve effective problem resolution.

Engineers may focus on either the deployment of new networks or the management of existing networks.
