Role Overview:

Insight Global is seeking a Monitoring Engineer to become a vital part of the Operational Intelligence Team for a major financial organization. The team is looking for two skilled mid-senior Engineers to lead the global monitoring strategy for critical Markets APS applications. This role involves designing, architecting, planning, reviewing, developing, and implementing comprehensive monitoring solutions to support various applications.

The team is currently tasked with integrating a new set of applications from the Global Banking sector that lack adequate monitoring frameworks. The selected individual will evaluate the existing monitoring landscape, identify the requirements for application monitoring, pinpoint existing gaps, and devise a holistic monitoring strategy to be integrated into the current monitoring tools utilized by engineering and production support teams. Collaboration with application teams will be essential to determine optimal monitoring approaches, as well as working alongside engineers to develop effective solutions. The role will encompass approximately 40% architectural oversight and 60% hands-on engineering tasks.

The engineer will identify deficiencies in the current monitoring systems—specifically Dynatrace and Splunk—and will provide integrated systems planning along with recommendations for new technologies that could enhance existing systems. This will support the overarching corporate and business objectives aligned with the Application Production Support monitoring strategy. A solid understanding of the various components within an application—how they are constructed, operated, supported, and how they interact with system software and hardware—is crucial for success in this position.
