About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic/Technician I to join our team at Penske. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Use Penske's tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay up-to-date on the latest vehicle maintenance techniques and technologies
Requirements
  • 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
  • Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials)
  • Valid driver's license required, CDL preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills and communication skills
  • The ability to work well as part of a team

The physical demands of this job include frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods. The associate must be able to use their hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and/or otherwise operate required tools or controls. The associate must also be able to work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platforms.
