The Electrical Operations Supervisor will provide leadership and technical guidance to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing facility.

Oversee the repair, modification, and preventive maintenance of the plant to enhance operational productivity.

You will supervise Electricians to ensure both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.

In collaboration with the Maintenance Planner, you will balance priorities, workforce, materials, and equipment availability to create work schedules for the department and individual team members.

Your responsibilities will also include ensuring safety, quality of work, and productivity of the maintenance team through direct leadership and coordination with production departments in a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Specific duties include, but are not limited to: 25-35%
Supervise Electricians and contractors. Manage both planned and unplanned maintenance tasks for daily operations and maintenance outages.
Provide technical expertise and guidance related to equipment. Improve communication and coordination between maintenance and other departments, particularly production.
Offer input and feedback to planners and storeroom staff to refine labor, parts, priorities, and methods.

Ensure work distribution allows each employee to have a full day's work while matching tasks to their skills and knowledge.

Guarantee safety, quality, timeliness, cost-effectiveness, and thoroughness of work performed. Supervise the on-the-job performance of Electricians.
Act as the first point of contact for automation and electrical emergencies.

Investigate and analyze electrical and control-related issues within the manufacturing process.

Assist in the design and installation of electrical/electronic systems, including PLCs, power distribution systems, instrumentation, servo motors, drives, and variable speed AC/DC drives.

Effectively manage the use of planned maintenance hours to maximize machine efficiency and production output.

Actively engage in planning, coordinating, and executing maintenance activities to ensure timely completion while maintaining excellent machine reliability.

Follow up on issues that did not proceed as planned during shutdowns and implement strategies to prevent future occurrences.

Assist and mentor Electricians and other staff as needed with technical and troubleshooting matters.

Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to company safety policies, maintaining cleanliness, and following defined training standards.
Lead safety meetings within the maintenance department.

Monitor compliance with safety policies and procedures, conduct inspections of plant areas, and ensure that any deficiencies are addressed or communicated appropriately.

Ensure maintenance technicians are well-trained, engaged, and committed to meeting departmental expectations, including adherence to all safety requirements.

Provide leadership and administrative support necessary for effective supervision. Observe employee performance and provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring.
Propose improvements to methods, procedures, and work practices.

Address performance issues promptly and fairly, providing effective feedback through the performance evaluation process.

Schedule workdays and off days for maintenance technicians and track vacation and floating holidays based on operational needs.

Contribute directly to the hiring process for maintenance technicians.

Support departmental budget goals by minimizing maintenance costs without compromising operational results.

Assist in reducing costs for major repairs and minimizing purchased maintenance expenses by utilizing internal personnel for maintenance and capital projects instead of external contractors whenever feasible.

Explore alternative parts or new suppliers to enhance cost-effectiveness. Identify opportunities for in-house shop and fabrication work instead of outsourcing.

Support large capital projects within the facility.
Participate in maintenance reviews of equipment design, layout, and safety aspects of new machinery.
Communicate project plans and progress to the maintenance team and serve as a channel for employee suggestions and concerns.
Ensure maintenance technicians are informed about changes resulting from new equipment.
Create, modify, and review maintenance policies and procedures related to these projects.
5-10%
Manage contractors and support related activities.
Develop scopes of work for contractors.
Ensure contractors adhere to all safety and environmental regulations.
5-15%
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
5+ years of hands-on experience as an automation or electrical technician in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in continuous processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical school training/diploma/certification is preferred
3+ years of recent supervisory experience is required.
