Under general supervision, carry out a variety of cleaning and light maintenance tasks. Supervise temporary staff as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Perform sweeping, scrubbing, applying finishes to, and polishing floors; vacuum and steam clean rugs and carpets; clear walkways and entrances; wash windows, woodwork, walls, and furniture; sanitize and clean restrooms and drinking fountains; collect refuse and recyclables for transport; rearrange furniture and equipment for classroom transitions and set up for college and community events; clean district/college vehicles; engage in thorough cleaning and restoration of facilities during off-peak times (which may require adjustments to work shifts to align with cleaning schedules); secure and unlock doors, gates, and windows; execute maintenance and minor repairs; receive and distribute supplies and equipment; operate and maintain cleaning machinery; report safety, sanitary, and fire hazards. Complete other assigned tasks as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one year of general work experience, including some custodial duties. Demonstrate an equity-minded approach, responsiveness, and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities, as it pertains to varying learning styles; successfully promote and support an inclusive educational and employment atmosphere.
(Experience Requirement: One year of experience equates to 12 months of experience at 40 hours per week. Relevant part-time experience will be converted to the full-time equivalent for the purpose of fulfilling the experience requirement. Education Requirement: One year of education equals 30 semester units.) Education must be obtained from an accredited institution.
