Position Summary

The Senior Vice President of Quality Assurance is a pivotal executive role responsible for spearheading quality management strategies within the organization. This position is essential in ensuring that all services, products, and processes consistently meet or surpass established quality benchmarks. The SVP of Quality Assurance will lead and coordinate strategic performance improvement initiatives across various domains, including Patient Safety, Accreditation, and Quality Outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Formulate and implement a comprehensive strategic plan that fosters caregiver engagement and promotes inter-professional collaboration.
  • Drive the organization towards achieving top-tier performance in all public quality measures.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with Joint Venture Partners.

Quality and Performance Improvement

  • Design and execute annual Quality and Performance Improvement Plans.
  • Ensure ongoing readiness for regulatory surveys and compliance.
  • Implement standardized programs in Infection Prevention, Patient Safety, and Public Transparency.
  • Maintain a Quality Initiatives Portfolio that showcases the impact of quality improvements.

Clinical Excellence and Patient Safety

  • Oversee the monitoring and reporting of clinical outcomes.
  • Act as a consultant and educator to keep the Quality agenda at the forefront of organizational priorities.
  • Encourage research and educational initiatives to enhance patient care and solidify the campus's leadership in Quality.

Collaboration and Partnership

  • Foster collaborative relationships with external partners to uphold Quality standards.
  • Support the agenda and content development for Performance Improvement Councils.

Culture of Safety and Learning

  • Lead initiatives that promote a Culture of Safety at the local level.
  • Oversee patient experience and advocacy programs.
  • Ensure the organization embodies a learning culture through continuous improvement methodologies.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Manage all local regulatory functions and participate in system-wide compliance efforts.
  • Lead the Internal Quality Survey process to ensure adherence to standards.

Patient Safety Initiatives

  • Guide Root Cause Analysis efforts and collaborate with the Patient Safety Organization.
  • Engage in the Safety Event Notification process for reporting safety incidents.

Informatics, Data, and Analytics

  • Support internal quality measurement initiatives.
  • Facilitate the deployment and optimization of electronic health records.

Qualifications

Education: A Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years in senior management roles, successfully leading Quality Improvement projects and patient safety programs. Proficiency in improvement science methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean is essential.

Preferred Qualifications: Certifications such as CPHQ, CPPS, or CPHRM are advantageous.
