Medical Staff Credentialing Coordinator

Position Overview:

The Credentialing Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the credentialing process for healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the credentialing and privileging of medical and allied health staff.
  • Process credentialing applications electronically, ensuring all submissions are complete.
  • Identify and follow up on incomplete credentialing files to gather necessary documentation.
  • Verify reappointment applications by preparing and sending requests for information, tracking responses, and following up as needed.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the credentialing database system.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices in credentialing processes.
  • Monitor and verify credentials in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collect and maintain required documentation during reappointments and manage the MD-Staff database.
  • Input accurate and current data for each applicant into the database and respond to verification inquiries.
  • Provide regular updates on project status to supervisory staff.
  • Perform additional credentialing duties as required within the scope of the role.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

Required:

  • Experience in initial credentialing and familiarity with MD-Staff.
  • General understanding of credentialing processes and medical staff services.
  • Proficient technical skills for navigating multiple databases and performing data entry.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Adobe Sign and similar platforms.
