The Cardiac Catheterization/Electrophysiology Staff Nurse Education Coordinator is a dual role staff nurse position within the Cardiac Catheterization/Electrophysiology labs in the Medicine Division of the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. This role is responsible for providing, directing, and supervising the delivery of quality nursing care to a culturally diverse veteran population of varying complexity in the Inpatient/Outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in a wide variety of specialized invasive cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization/Electrophysiology Lab, assisting in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of cardiovascular disease and cardiac arrhythmias.
- Provide direct and indirect patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing evidence-based practices that are congruent with the organization's mission and goals.
- Coordinate evidence-based education, competency, and competence development/validation for nursing staff.
- Serve as a resource for nursing staff related to ongoing education and evidence-based practice implementation.
- Collaborate with multiple disciplines to design, develop, and implement interdisciplinary training and simulation for nursing staff.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth.
- BSN preferred, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in ICU, ER, Cardiac Catheterization/Electrophysiology Lab, or other critical care area highly preferred.
- English Language Proficiency.
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

- Day shift with variable start times.
