Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Scientist specializing in Water Resources, Agricultural, or Nutrient Management to contribute to our practice. This role involves collaborating with a team to deliver technical expertise on ongoing projects and support business growth in the Ecological and Biological Sciences sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive strategic business growth and establish client relationships to expand a diverse range of scientific and engineering services in the agricultural and nutrient management fields.
- Analyze and interpret water resource management and land-use practices, with a focus on agricultural and nutrient management, while adhering to regulatory frameworks and environmental monitoring standards.
- Oversee the execution of analyses and the preparation of regulatory documents and expert reports.
- Integrate technical data and apply innovative and analytical thinking to create and review reports and technical presentations.
- Maintain professional development through the publication of peer-reviewed articles and participation in relevant technical conferences and professional society activities.
- Collaborate effectively on projects with colleagues from the Ecological and Biological Sciences Practice and interdisciplinary teams from other practices as necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Water Resources, Agricultural Science, Ecology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) designation for the Senior Managing Engineer career path.
- At least 7 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 4 years in a consulting capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of land-use practices, agricultural science, soil management, water resource strategies, pest control, and nutrient management.
- Familiarity with agricultural practices and a solid understanding of scientific sampling methods and contemporary issues related to terrestrial, wildlife, soil, and water quality.
- Proven skills in data analysis and statistical methodologies.
- Experience managing projects of moderate complexity and scope.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines, and communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to personal growth and the development of team members.
- Additional experience in understanding relevant federal, state, and local regulations concerning agriculture and environmental sciences is advantageous.
