Strategic Sales Director

The Strategic Sales Director is responsible for developing and executing strategic Sales and Marketing programs to meet growth objectives; develop market awareness and communicate results. This role works closely with business segment executives and senior leadership, product management, and sales leadership in the development of supporting sales tools to attract, win, and retain clients. The Strategic Sales Director partners with all functions within marketing as well as key external departments to drive successful, cross-functional marketing and sales initiatives and is responsible for the successful development and maintenance of key performance indicators to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic recommendations based on market insights on solution positioning, messaging, value proposition, and differentiation to drive growth and client loyalty.
- Create and manage the strategy for business segments to reflect growth, product, and services, and client management goals and objectives.
- Develops and implements strategies and supporting sales tools for a portfolio of solutions for ongoing cross-sell, up-sell, and new clients.
- Manages the execution of promotions of products and services, including the promotion of product integration and new products.
- Assumes a leadership role in sales meetings, follow-up, and for deliverables are met on a timely basis during the entire sales cycle.
- Maintains and oversees marketing data, including measurement of the effectiveness of marketing programs.
- Leverages C-Suite relationships to open doors ultimately leading to solution selling.
- Supports the organization's mission and vision, core values.
- Oversees and manages all ongoing lead generation.
- Oversees marketing positioning in industry events.
Requirements:
- Must have integrity, fortitude, and credibility, complimented by a bias for action, strong sense of accountability, and highly developed persuasion and negotiation skills. Demonstrates the professional maturity necessary to gain the confidence of senior executives.
- Skilled at synthesizing disparate ideas and concepts and effectively merging toward a shared vision. Must have a highly collaborative nature and proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Must be a dynamic leader, strong strategic thinker, pragmatic in approach to achieving results, and have proven communication skills, including the ability to positively direct and motivate staff and internal partners.
- Strong communication skills (business writing, presentations, and interpersonal) Ability to work with executive-level clients and stakeholders and to lead others.
- Minimum 10+ years sales and marketing-related experience.
- Team player who can demonstrate knowledge of the function through decisive action plans and excel in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment.
- Must be experienced at facilitating and developing cross-functional relationships and instill that skill in teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment that requires a quality, persuasive, and differentiated output.
- Must have attention to detail, a commitment to quality, be results-driven, and customer-focused.
- Ability to understand Company strategies and apply those strategies to business development efforts.
- BA or BS in business or marketing-related preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years managing teams and/or projects.
- Solid knowledge of all MS Office Products.
