Job Summary

Hearst Television Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced News Producer to join our team. As a key member of our newsroom, you will be responsible for creating engaging and informative live newscasts that captivate our audience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Content Creation: Select, research, and write compelling content for live newscasts, ensuring a high level of quality and accuracy.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with anchors, reporters, meteorologists, photographers, editors, and production staff to coordinate creative vision and ensure seamless execution.
  • Breaking News: Coordinate and produce breaking news coverage, including live timing and boothing assigned newscasts.
  • Story Production: Guide reporters in story production, ensuring that all content meets the highest journalistic standards.
Requirements
  • Professional Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional or college producing experience in a newsroom environment.
  • Writing and Copy-Editing Skills: Excellent writing and copy-editing skills, with the ability to summarize complex information into easy-to-understand components.
  • Leadership and Communication: Proven ability to lead and communicate effectively with a team, ensuring seamless execution of creative vision.
  • Flexibility and Availability: Must be available to work holidays, shifts including nights, weekends, and overnights, and flexible with schedule to be available during breaking news.
