ROLE SUMMARY:

As a Business Portfolio and Relationship Officer, you will be tasked with creating, developing, and overseeing a portfolio of intricate business members, providing comprehensive assistance in lending, financial transactions, document management, and relationship oversight. Your role is crucial in fostering robust member relationships, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, and collaborating with the Assistant Vice President (AVP) to refine and implement operational protocols.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Portfolio Oversight:

  • Oversee a portfolio of intricate business members, ensuring their financial requirements are met proficiently.
  • Regularly monitor member accounts, conduct assessments, and proactively address challenges or opportunities.
  • Conduct evaluations/renewals of member accounts/loans to gauge performance in accordance with policy.
  • Coordinate evaluation/renewal processes in partnership with the AVP.

Member Support and Relationship Development:

    • Facilitate lending processes for business members, including loan applications and disbursements.
    • Ensure quality assurance for loans originated by the business banking department under $50k, including loan input, communication of conditions, and onboarding.
    • Through a structured and consultative approach, cultivate new depository, loan, and transaction relationships with potential clients to introduce the Credit Union's offerings.
    • Conduct site visits to assess collateral for new or existing loans or for other evaluations as necessary.
    • Engage in community events to promote the Credit Union's services and financial products.
    • Deliver personalized service to members, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining high satisfaction levels.
    • Build strong relationships with members to enhance engagement and identify opportunities for additional services, including transaction services in collaboration with the Business Services Specialist.
    • Assist in transaction activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
    • Identify opportunities to expand business with existing members through cross-selling and upselling of products and services.

Operational Compliance and Policy Management:

    • Gather necessary documentation from members for loan applications, evaluations, renewals, and service requests.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies throughout the process.
    • Collaborate with the AVP to review, update, and implement policies and procedures related to business banking operations.
    • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and industry best practices.

Additional Duties:

  • Collaborate closely with the AVP and other team members to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the AVP of Member Business Lending - Business Banking.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or accounting is preferred. However, a degree in another field along with a minimum of five (5) years in the commercial lending sector is acceptable. Proven experience in business banking, commercial lending, or portfolio management is required.
