Employee Relations Specialist

The Employee Relations Specialist is a key member of the HR department at The Inland Real Estate Group LLC, responsible for supporting the daily operations of the team. This role involves a variety of tasks, including employee consulting, training, conflict resolution, complaint investigation, policy interpretation, and the preparation and delivery of related summary reports and recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:- Employee Relations: Demonstrates highest standards of personal and professional integrity, adheres to company's policies and procedures, and complies with applicable laws, government rules and regulations.
- Investigations and Compliance: Investigates complaints and/or charges filed both internally and externally regarding violations of company policies, state and federal laws governing employment practices, and prepares appropriate responses.
- Corrective Actions and Terminations: Reviews corrective actions; reviews requests for suspensions and terminations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Documentation and Support: Gathers and organizes all necessary documentation for information requests and assists in hearings as necessary.
- Investigatory Support: Provides investigatory support to the Employee Relations Manager in complex employee relations matters and in the employee resolution process.
- Policies and Procedures: Ensures consistency with practice and administration of policies and procedures.
- Employee Performance Programs: Assists in administering employee performance programs.
- Policy Development and Communication: Suggests new procedures and policies for improving employee experience as well as the efficiency of HR department and company.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensures compliance with local and national regulations and applicable employment laws, and updates policies and procedures when necessary.
- HRIS and Communication: Reviews and makes employee changes in the company HRIS System, Dayforce as necessary, and assists with answering incoming inquiries from the HR Helpdesk.
- This position requires a Bachelor's degree (B.A.), preferably in Human Resources, or related field from a four-year college or university or equivalent professional knowledge and/or work experience.
- 3-5 years human resource experience.
- PHR certification preferred.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook are required for this position.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
- Aptitude for problem-solving and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
- Advanced knowledge of HRIS and ability to learn new technical systems, when necessary.
- Proven success working in an HR department.
- Resourceful mindset and strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce software preferred.
- Knowledge of national laws and regulations related.
