Overview:

Under the guidance of senior management, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for assessing user requirements, prioritizing tasks, and overseeing project execution. This role supports the strategic planning of Information Systems, encompassing budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. The Project Manager will track project challenges and provide updates to management and local teams regarding the progress of key initiatives. Utilizing extensive experience and analytical skills, the Project Manager will gather and assess user needs, estimate project timelines and costs, coordinate various project activities, ensure comprehensive testing of system modifications, and guarantee user training and readiness. Compliance with established guidelines and procedures is essential, as is the coordination of project implementations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to PMO methodologies and processes to manage projects from inception to completion.

• Develop and oversee project scope, resources, and budgets.

• Manage multiple large-scale projects while mentoring junior team members.

• Analyze and interpret business requirements, vendor agreements, and other documentation to define project deliverables.

• Ensure high-quality standards in deliverables, implementation, and user satisfaction across multiple projects.

• Oversee complex, enterprise-level projects with minimal supervision, coordinating with various stakeholders for successful project kick-offs.

• Provide guidance to Project Coordinators and junior Project Managers, ensuring successful project execution.

• Ensure adherence to PMO processes, maintaining proper documentation for internal and external audits.

• Create essential project documents including Charters, Project Plans, Budget Trackers, and Status Reports.

• Establish critical milestones and regularly report project status to executive leadership.

• Develop a detailed project plan prior to implementation, ensuring all projects are managed according to the plan.

• Identify potential risks and dependencies early, collaborating with stakeholders to create mitigation strategies and monitor progress.

• Comply with PPMO policies and documentation standards, ensuring meticulous record-keeping.

• Facilitate planning and design sessions to clarify project scope and design elements.

• Collaborate with IS Training and Vendors to ensure comprehensive documentation and user training.

• Validate user competency in utilizing information systems before significant changes or go-live events.

• Ensure that support personnel are prepared for go-live events and that succession planning is documented for ongoing support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in an Information Systems environment is required.
  • Experience in a large multi-hospital system is preferred.
  • Experience in clinical project implementation and management is essential; familiarity with Epic or Meditech is advantageous.
  • Prior experience managing projects of varying scope and complexity is necessary.
  • A minimum of six years of experience in information technology project teams and customer requirement analysis is required.
  • A clinical education background is preferred.
  • PMI Certification is strongly preferred.
