Overview:

Under the guidance of senior leadership, the Senior Project Manager plays a crucial role in identifying user requirements, setting work priorities, and overseeing project execution. This position supports business planning related to Information Systems, encompassing budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. The Project Manager is responsible for tracking project issues and providing updates to management and local steering committees regarding the progress of essential tasks. Utilizing experience and analytical skills, the Project Manager will assess user needs, estimate project timelines and costs, coordinate design and development activities, ensure thorough testing of system modifications, and facilitate user training while adhering to established guidelines and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement PMO methodologies and processes to manage projects comprehensively.

• Develop and oversee project scope, resources, and budget management.

• Manage multiple large-scale projects while mentoring junior team members.

• Analyze and clarify business requirements, vendor agreements, and related documentation to outline project deliverables clearly.

• Ensure high-quality outcomes in deliverables, implementation, and customer satisfaction across multiple projects.

• Lead complex, enterprise-level projects with minimal supervision, engaging the right leadership, resources, vendors, and stakeholders for project initiation.

• Provide oversight to Project Coordinators and junior Project Managers, ensuring successful project implementation.

• Ensure adherence to PMO processes, maintaining documentation for internal and external audits.

• Create essential project documentation, including Charters, Project Plans, Budget Trackers, RACI matrices, and status reports.

• Establish critical path milestones and regularly report project status to executive leadership.

• Develop detailed project plans prior to implementation, tracking progress against established goals.

• Identify potential risks and dependencies early, collaborating with stakeholders to create mitigation strategies and monitor progress actively.

• Comply with PPMO policies and documentation standards, ensuring meticulous record-keeping for all projects.

• Facilitate planning and design sessions to clarify project scope and requirements.

• Collaborate with IS Training and vendors to ensure comprehensive user documentation and training are in place.

• Validate user competency in information systems prior to system go-live or significant changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in an Information Systems environment is required.
  • Experience in a large multi-hospital system is preferred.
  • Clinical project implementation and management experience is essential; familiarity with Epic or Meditech is advantageous.
  • Prior experience managing projects of varying scope and complexity is necessary.
  • A minimum of six years of experience in information technology project teams, focusing on customer requirements and analysis.
  • A clinical education background is preferred.
  • PMI Certification is strongly preferred.
