The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing intricate and critical professional domains. This role involves leading and guiding a team of skilled professionals. A thorough understanding of various functional areas and their interconnections is essential to meet the objectives of the organization. The position demands a deep comprehension of the business implications of technical contributions, along with strong commercial insight. The Senior IT Project Manager is generally accountable for delivering a comprehensive range of services to multiple business units or geographic regions. Exceptional communication skills are necessary for effective negotiation at senior levels, and some external communication may also be required. This role holds accountability for the outcomes of a specific area and exercises control over resources, policy development, and strategic planning. It primarily influences a sub-function and is involved in the short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for its domain. Full management responsibility encompasses overseeing a team or multiple teams, including personnel management, budget oversight, and strategic planning, which includes performance assessments, compensation decisions, hiring, disciplinary actions, and budget approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for all technological aspects of the development and execution of major, complex projects; may oversee enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Creates detailed IT project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and progress reports.
  • Provides strategic IT direction for managed projects.
  • Establishes guidelines for adequate staffing to fulfill operational requirements.
  • Influences the IT project leadership function through strategic resource management, budget oversight, and planning; responsible for final outcomes.
  • Assesses team members' performance and makes decisions regarding promotions, hiring, terminations, and other personnel matters.
  • Utilizes extensive knowledge of concepts and procedures within the domain and basic understanding of other areas to address issues that extend beyond the immediate area.
  • Ensures adherence to essential procedures and contributes to the establishment of standards.
  • Demonstrates a profound understanding of how IT project leadership integrates within the broader technology function to achieve objectives; requires a solid grasp of industry standards.
  • Provides evaluative judgment based on the analysis of factual information in complex, unique, and dynamic situations; draws from a diverse range of internal and external sources.
  • Negotiates and influences senior leaders across functions; may engage with external stakeholders.
  • Carefully evaluates risks when making business decisions, demonstrating particular consideration for the organization's reputation and safeguarding its clients and assets by ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal conduct and business practices, and effectively supervising the activities of others while fostering accountability for maintaining these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in a relevant technology role with significant people management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, systems administration, or related fields, with a focus on security agent deployment and management.
  • Strong leadership and managerial capabilities: Ability to effectively oversee a team responsible for deploying and maintaining security agents across a large server environment, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Expertise in security agent technologies: Knowledge of security tools such as CrowdStrike, Tanium, and Illumio, including their functionalities, deployment strategies, and upgrade processes.
  • Technical proficiency in Linux and Windows environments: Experience in Linux and Wintel systems administration, with the ability to troubleshoot issues, optimize configurations, and coordinate deployments across various operating systems.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills: Proven ability to interface with key stakeholders, including CISOs and application teams, to understand security requirements, coordinate deployments, and ensure seamless integration of security solutions into existing infrastructure.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities: Capacity to anticipate future security needs, identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements, and develop long-term strategies for optimizing security agent deployment and maintenance processes.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or relevant vendor-specific certifications (e.g., CrowdStrike Certified Administrator) are advantageous.

$144,000 - $216,720.00
