Your Role:

We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Project Leader to join our team. The successful candidate should possess 7-10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, ideally holding a BS in Geotechnical Engineering (MS preferred). This role involves providing exceptional technical guidance on complex projects, focusing on soil and rock classification, slope stability assessments, earth retention systems, deep foundation design, soil enhancement methods, and pavement engineering. Familiarity with infrastructure, drilling processes, and heavy civil project design and execution is advantageous. Proven experience in leading technical projects, managing diverse teams, and mentoring junior staff will be highly regarded.

The position offers flexibility in location, with opportunities available in various offices.

Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in performing engineering analyses and overseeing technical project delivery
  • Strong leadership abilities in proposal development, project scheduling, and meeting project timelines
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with both new and existing clients
  • Ability to effectively guide and mentor project teams and staff
  • Commitment to quality assurance and risk management
  • Experience in the Northern California region is preferred
  • Ability to bring existing client relationships and portfolios to Kleinfelder is a plus
  • Responsible for adhering to project budgets and ensuring financial performance

Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering, with a comprehensive understanding of applicable regulations
  • Demonstrated success in geotechnical engineering, either in a technical or project management role within a professional services environment
  • PE certification in California or the ability to obtain it within a specified timeframe is essential; GE certification is preferred
