Job Summary

ABM Industries is seeking a seasoned Human Resources professional to join our team as a Manager, Field HR. This role will provide critical support to our NJ/NY region operations, overseeing three direct reports and collaborating with HR centers of excellence to drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a high-performing team environment, fostering a culture of customer focus and engagement.
  • Manage and guide three Site HR Partners, providing expert HR guidance and support.
  • Review and refine onboarding and orientation processes for new leaders.
  • Analyze trends and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement in turnover, retention, and key employee and customer engagement indicators.
  • Partner with leadership to understand current and future staffing needs, developing workforce plans to meet business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Team to design and implement talent development programs, ensuring key programs focus on front-line managers and team members.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to inform continuous improvement and drive decision-making.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues, conducting thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and reducing legal risks.
  • Partner with the Legal Team as needed to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to front-line leaders, including coaching, counseling, and career development.
  • Work closely with front-line leaders to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Identify training needs and develop individual coaching plans to support business and employee growth.
  • Participate in the evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to deliver programs that meet organizational goals.
  • Review key business performance targets and their related talent implications with business leaders.
  • Support customer retention and business development through direct involvement with key customer relationships.
  • Identify and drive the sharing of best practices across functions to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Understand and mitigate corporate risk associated with relevant employment laws and policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field; Master's Degree preferred.
  • In lieu of degree, 10+ years of related experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of applicable experience in Human Resources, business operations, or management.
  • Minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience.
  • Appropriate experience with a large hourly and distributed workforce is a strong plus.
  • Experience working with union and non-union employees preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

  • Bilingual/Spanish preferred.
  • Clear understanding of the link between talent and other HR initiatives and business strategy.
  • Strong consultation and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively challenge, influence, and develop productive relationships inside and outside of HR.
  • Intellectual agility, interpersonal flexibility, and deep curiosity to learn.
  • Exposure to strong process and project management discipline.
  • Effective team player and networker.
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $90,000–$105,000. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program.
