Mechanical Assembly Technician

Overview:
The role involves assembling and testing mechanical components, parts, or products utilizing various tools and equipment, adhering to specific specifications within a designated area of a manufacturing production line.
The position requires familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the field. The individual will depend on established instructions and guidelines to execute job functions.Key Responsibilities:
Uphold the Quality, Environmental, and Health and Safety (QEH&S) policies and strategic objectives of NESCO Inc.
Carry out sub-assemblies and final assemblies with limited supervision. Work within a production cell or handle small components by inspecting and sorting. Follow written job instructions or engineering drawings/work orders. Develop a comprehensive understanding of assembly operations/functions to effectively troubleshoot units. Acquire knowledge of operational or departmental equipment, tools, or gauges as necessary. Recognize process modifications and opportunities for improvement. Maintain current calibration of instrumentation. Conduct quality inspections in line with established quality protocols and ISO standards. May require the use of forklifts, hand trucks, carts, hoists, and ladders.
Execute all other assigned duties.Utilize and maintain the necessary personal protective equipment to safely perform the job. Ensure production rates meet customer demands. Review daily production objectives and metrics collaboratively. Maintain cleanliness of the work area following 5S principles. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives at the work site.
Skills and Equipment:
Ability to read and understand simple instructions. Proficiency in using various power (Pneumatic) hand tools (e.g., power screwdrivers, sockets, etc.). Capability to interpret blueprints.
Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred 1+ years of experience in assembly or similar fast-paced operations.
Attributes:
Consistent attendance, commitment to production quality, professional demeanor, and teamwork are essential.
Physical Requirements:
May need to lift weights ranging from one to forty pounds.
Additional Requirements:
The successful candidate must adhere to the company Code of Conduct and related policies.
