Essential Qualifications:
- Proficient in assembling Cat 5e and Cat 6e cables.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in cable assembly, with the ability to interpret schematics and cable run sheets. Familiarity with hand crimping tools, DMC, Molex, Terminal lug crimper, Client, Hirose, JST tool, and BNC crimper is required.
- Solid understanding of the electronics industry, including knowledge of connectors such as Molex, Client, AMP, Cannon, JST, Hirose, and Mil spec.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in soldering surface mount and through-hole components, as well as Mil Connectors.
- IPC-620 and IPC-J-STD-001 certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Manufacturing setting, engaging in a variety of electro-mechanical assembly tasks on assemblies or sub-assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
As an Electromechanical Assembly Technician, you will oversee all aspects of assembling electronic components.
Typical Duties Include:
- Non-repetitive assembly tasks.
- Working from technical diagrams and drawings.
- Mechanical assembly processes.
- Soldering in accordance with J-STD-001 standards.
- Constructing prototype assemblies.
- Cable assembly operations.
- Circuit board assembly tasks.
- Complex wiring assignments.
- Utilizing hand and power tools.
- Employing manufacturing software and Microsoft Office for documentation purposes.
- Maintaining thorough documentation for future reference.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Experience working with various functional departments.
- High School diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
- Experience in soldering and assembling electronic components, with familiarity in electronic assembly industry standards, including ESD practices.
- Possession of J-STD-001 and IPC620 soldering certifications or the ability to obtain them (position contingent on certification).
- Capability to interpret technical drawings and follow written instructions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, etc.).
- Experience with Costpoint is advantageous.
- Adherence to safety protocols is essential.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. with assistance.
- Experience in a defense contracting environment with multiple ongoing projects/contracts.
- Current J-STD-001 soldering certification (not mandatory).
- Experience in rework processes.
