Health Equity Circle Organizer

Job Summary:
The Health Equity Circle Organizer will provide specialized leadership to lead the student Health Equity Circle (HEC) chapters in Spokane and oversee the regional network of Health Equity Circle student chapters. These chapters include but are not limited to WSU. The Health Equity Lead Organizer position is an academic-community collaboration between the WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine and the Health Equity Circle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop systems and services that encourage student engagement.
- Develop and deliver curriculum involving the impacts of social determinants of health, relational leadership, and community organizing on health equity to build student capacity for upstream change.
- Establish a strong network of engaged interprofessional student leaders and community partners.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant extension program discipline and three (3) years of related experience in the program specialty.
- Demonstrated teaching experience and evaluating community projects and experience in preparing educational materials for low literacy and diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare related training or experience.
- Lived experience(s) of the impacts of the social determinants of health and equity.
- Experience developing and delivering leadership trainings, ideally in an organizing setting.
