Position Overview
The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) for the Perinatal department is a vital role within the nursing education framework, focusing on the enhancement of clinical competencies and professional growth for nursing personnel specializing in Perinatal care. This position is responsible for the administration of essential educational programs, competency assessments, and training initiatives tailored to the unique needs of the nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement educational strategies that align with evidence-based nursing practices and clinical inquiry.
2. Collaborate with nursing leadership, including Unit Directors and Clinical Nurse Specialists, to assess educational needs and allocate resources effectively.
3. Facilitate professional development opportunities that promote excellence in patient care through skill acquisition.

Qualifications
- Current California RN license is mandatory.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on Education is required, or commitment to pursue an MSN in Nursing Education.
- A minimum of three years of recent experience in acute care settings is essential.
- Extensive experience in High-Risk Labor and Delivery is highly preferred.
- At least five years of recent experience in the Perinatal field is required.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills are necessary to foster positive relationships with nursing staff and leadership.

*Candidates who do not meet the minimum educational criteria may be considered for a Clinical Nurse Educator 3 position.*
