Position Overview
The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) in the Perinatal department is a vital role within the nursing education framework. This position focuses on clinical nursing education and is responsible for overseeing essential training, competency assessments, and professional development for nursing staff specializing in perinatal care within the University of California health system.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive educational programs tailored to the needs of nursing staff.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership, including Unit Directors and Clinical Nurse Specialists, to assess educational needs and implement effective training solutions.
- Utilize adult learning principles to enhance the educational experience and ensure skill acquisition in evidence-based nursing practices.
- Promote excellence in patient care through ongoing education and professional development initiatives.

Qualifications
- Current California RN license is mandatory.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required; a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Education or a commitment to pursue this degree is essential.
- A minimum of three years of recent acute care experience is required.
- Experience in High-Risk Labor and Delivery is highly desirable.
- At least five years of recent experience in perinatal nursing is necessary.
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential for fostering positive relationships with nursing staff and leadership.

Salary Range
$124,600 - $289,400 Annually

Applicants who do not meet the minimum educational requirements may be considered for a Clinical Nurse Educator 3 position.
