The American Heart Association presents an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Program Manager, focusing on the Scholars Initiative, including JUCO and Tribal programs. This position offers the flexibility of remote work within the United States.

Position Summary:

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position funded through grants, with current financing expected to last until mid-2026.

Key Responsibilities:

In this capacity, you will lead and assist in the design and execution of initiatives related to the Association's Scholars Program.

Your role will involve collaborating across the organization as a subject matter expert to develop strategies that enhance engagement of the Scholars as Ambassadors, Advocates, and Fundraisers.

This Senior Program Manager will foster new partnerships and audience-specific engagement channels, identifying and cultivating revenue-generating opportunities to support the Scholars Program on both national and local levels.



Essential Duties Include:

• Assisting in the formulation of strategic plans and their implementation while serving as a senior subject matter expert to establish the Association Scholars Alumni, Junior College, and Tribal programs.

• Collaborating with various departments within the American Heart Association, such as Science, Advocacy, Marketing Communications, and Mission Advancement, to create a comprehensive Scholars ecosystem that delivers end-to-end solutions.

• Developing a program to establish and enhance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for communications and marketing, focusing on increasing awareness and brand recognition of the Association Scholars.

• Working alongside Scholars Leads to devise tactical plans for program sustainability and field engagement.

• Identifying key national strategic partners to foster new business and volunteer relationships, advancing opportunities for revenue generation, volunteer leadership, and multi-faceted collaborations.

• Nurturing and maintaining relationships to ensure the scale and sustainability of the Association Scholars through ongoing student engagement.

• Providing continuous relationship management, tracking, and evaluation.

• Leading the analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness and engagement strategies for the Alumni Engagement initiative, as well as for Junior and Tribal Colleges.

• Offering recommendations for program development, evaluation, and enhancement.

• Cultivating and sustaining collaborative relationships with Association staff, volunteers, sponsors, and partners throughout the program planning process.

• In partnership with the Association Scholars Executive Lead, identifying and establishing success metrics and analyzing market response and outreach.



Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Health Promotion, Public Health, Human Resources, Marketing, Business, or Communications.

• A minimum of seven (7) years of proven experience in business development or account management.

• Experience in alumni program development, planning, and management.

• Familiarity with Junior College, Tribal, and/or University environments.

• Background in public health or non-profit services.

• Extensive experience in building business cases, analyzing market trends, and identifying innovative business opportunities.

• Ability to influence leadership without direct authority.

• Proficient in communicating and presenting ideas to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of health organizations and community-based processes for engaging with community organizations.

• Experience with market research, analytics, and reporting.

• Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and events simultaneously under time constraints to ensure compliance with deadlines.

• Strong understanding and appreciation for the use of technology and information systems.

• Demonstrated critical thinking skills in assessing needs and available resources for the efficient implementation of new and existing programs.

• Self-motivated with effective organizational, analytical, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Proven ability to facilitate meetings with internal and external clients, including interactions with external partners and sponsors, representing the Association to the public as essential.

Compensation & Benefits:

The expected salary range is $100,000 to $110,000, commensurate with experience, with geographic differentials applicable. The American Heart Association reserves the right to adjust compensation based on various factors.
