Position Overview:

As a Water Resources Engineer, you will work under the guidance of the Engineering Operations Manager, engaging in various engineering tasks related to the assessment, analysis, and design of water and wastewater systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct thorough evaluations of the existing wastewater collection infrastructure to identify and mitigate sources of inflow and infiltration.
2. Review engineering plans and specifications for compliance with municipal development codes and regulations.
3. Collaborate with the Planning and Development Services Department on new developments, growth initiatives, and site plans.
4. Participate in Pre-Application Conferences for development projects and identify opportunities for oversized participation.
5. Engage in engineering research, prepare detailed reports, and present findings in meetings.
6. Analyze modeling computations for accuracy and prepare time and material estimates.
7. Advise construction project inspectors and conduct inspections during project execution.
8. Work on special projects and reports as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
2. Four to six years of relevant engineering experience or equivalent education.
3. Texas Professional Engineer (PE) License or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
4. Valid Texas Driver's License.

Preferred:
1. Experience in municipal government operations.
2. Familiarity with industry-standard software such as EPANET, EPASWMM, Innovyze InfoWater, Innovyze InfoSewer, and AutoCAD.
3. Management or supervisory experience.
4. Public speaking skills.

Due to the sensitive nature of this position, candidates will undergo pre-employment drug testing as per city policy.
