Join Our Team as a Senior Structural Engineer
Are you passionate about crafting innovative structural designs for intricate, large-scale concrete water-bearing structures? If you thrive on providing essential structural support for significant water and wastewater initiatives, we have an exciting opportunity for you.
As a key member of our College Station Water Design Center (WDC), you will take the lead in a project team dedicated to developing structural designs for various water and wastewater treatment facilities, including pump stations, lift stations, and additional infrastructure related to these projects. Your role will encompass structural layout, design calculations, collaboration with other BIM structural designers, and conducting quality reviews. Occasional travel may be required for site assessments and construction support.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead a project team in the design of structures such as clarifiers, process basins, filters, administrative buildings, pump stations, lift stations, tanks, vaults, retaining walls, and other related infrastructure.
- Perform structural design calculations for materials including concrete, steel, and masonry.
- Oversee the creation of construction drawings and 3D models.
- Coordinate efforts with geotechnical subconsultants.
- Provide support during construction phases.
- Assist the Structural Team Leader in managing and mentoring team members, coordinating schedules, monitoring budgets, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality work products that meet our standards.
What You Bring to the Table:
- A Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- A minimum of five years of structural design experience.
- Professional Engineer Licensure (PE).
- Strong technical expertise in structural engineering design involving concrete, masonry, and structural steel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in civil or structural engineering.
- Registered Structural Engineer (SE).
- Knowledge of the structural complexities associated with water and wastewater treatment equipment and water-bearing structures.
- Experience with Bluebeam software.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Revit.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including process, civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation and control disciplines.
- Active involvement in local professional organizations.
