Role Summary:
The Senior Nursing Executive for Corporate Projects will be instrumental in providing support and traveling to various Acadia facilities nationwide. This role entails stepping in as the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at locations experiencing staffing shortages and offering extended on-site assistance to interim CNOs, ensuring a smooth transition until a permanent CNO is appointed. This position is crucial for maintaining the stability of nursing teams during recruitment phases.

The Senior Nursing Executive will lead and manage nursing teams across multiple Acute Behavioral Health Hospitals, focusing on clinical excellence, adherence to regulatory standards, and the enhancement of patient care outcomes. A key responsibility is to uphold a consistently positive, empathetic, and professional demeanor in all interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel is expected to be around 80%, including occasional weekend stays, varying based on facility needs.
  • Proactively manage changes in patient census and acuity, allocating nursing resources accordingly.
  • Model exemplary customer service and prioritize patient safety in all operations.
  • Participate as a member of the leadership team and contribute to committees as necessary.
  • Oversee daily nursing operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Integrate nursing functions with clinical programs for efficient operations.
  • Manage budgets effectively to optimize resource utilization.
  • Assess service needs and staffing requirements to meet patient demands.
  • Supervise staff management, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Conduct regular rounds to monitor unit operations.
  • Address crisis situations and investigate incidents as they arise.
  • Oversee the use of tools to measure and enhance the quality of nursing care.
  • Ensure nursing documentation meets all regulatory standards.
  • Provide direct care as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in psychiatric or mental health nursing is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of nursing experience, with at least 5 years in a Chief Nursing Officer role preferred.
  • Active and in good standing Compact RN license.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
  • First aid certification may be required based on state or facility regulations.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of behavioral health treatment practices and regulatory requirements.
