POSITION SUMMARY:

The Regional Construction Project Manager should have between 5 to 20 years of experience overseeing ground-up commercial projects, from initial site work to final build-out and closeout.

This role involves planning, developing, and managing project timelines, adhering to budgets, and ensuring site safety in collaboration with the project management team and executive leadership.

The ideal candidate will also be responsible for coordinating subcontractors and vendors, managing subcontractor agreements, and supervising construction projects from design through to completion. The primary focus will be on projects related to dining, retail, commercial office spaces, and hospitality, utilizing both ground-up and tenant improvement construction methods.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Exhibit exceptional organizational skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in Procore Construction Software is highly desirable.
  • Supervise craft personnel, including assigning tasks, evaluating performance, and providing feedback to management.
  • Review shop drawings, manage material procurement, coordinate deliveries, ensure site accessibility, inspect work quality, and uphold a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Demonstrate proactive thinking and high organizational standards.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and a positive professional demeanor.
  • Deliver top-tier customer service with a focus on communication.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation, including daily reports and receipts.
  • Prepare and negotiate subcontractor agreements while managing budgets using company technology.
  • Select appropriate construction methods and strategies to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget in coordination with the design team.
  • Provide regular progress updates and budget reports to Project Managers and the Director of Construction.
  • Assist in the selection and hiring of subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Facilitate prompt resolution of issues and conflicts as they arise.

EDUCATION:

A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred. Proficiency in computer skills and scheduling software is essential.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of five to ten years in a commercial construction management role.
  • Experience in commercial general contracting with successful projects in sectors such as healthcare, education, or hospitality is preferred.
  • Ability to manage projects and interact with inspectors, subcontractors, architects, interior designers, engineers, city officials, and clients.
  • Proactive management of project schedules and budgets.
  • Experience negotiating with subcontractors to achieve reasonable budgetary costs.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and follow up on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that foster positive interactions with clients, colleagues, subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors.
  • Ability to lead, support, and motivate a team of subcontractors effectively.
  • Capable of clearly explaining construction processes and providing direction to employees and subcontractors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with all parties involved in the construction process.
  • Proven time management skills and a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to plan projects effectively, anticipate potential schedule conflicts, and implement budget-friendly solutions.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical construction documents, blueprints, finish schedules, submittals, and equipment specifications.

This is a management position that does not require hands-on knowledge of tools.
