Are you passionate about providing care to seniors? At Elder Care Alliance, we are dedicated to fostering a supportive environment for both our residents and staff. We are seeking a dedicated Medication Administration Technician to join our vibrant community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense medications to residents as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation and control of medication records.
  • Understand and implement safety protocols to protect resident well-being.
  • Monitor for any adverse reactions or issues and communicate findings to the Supervisor and physician.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and participate in medication audits.

  • Exhibit professionalism in personal appearance, attendance, and resident confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate compassion and commitment to resident safety.

Medication Management

  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by healthcare providers, promptly reporting any discrepancies or side effects.
  • Document medication administration and refusals accurately.

Documentation & Communication

  • Maintain medication logs in accordance with established procedures, utilizing electronic systems when applicable.
  • Ensure timely reordering of medications and adherence to storage and disposal protocols.

Treatment Administration

  • Administer treatments following physician orders and monitor for any complications.
  • Report any issues or refusals to the appropriate personnel.

Safety Protocols

  • Adhere to safety procedures and report any hazardous conditions immediately.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Clear criminal background check through the Department of Social Services.
  • Recent health screening and TB test results.
  • Current First Aid certification as per Title 22 requirements.
  • Proficient in computer use and typing for electronic health records.
  • Preferred experience of six months or more in long-term care or a related field.

Essential Requirements

  • Completion of a Med Tech Training program.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience working in a diverse environment.
