Position: Medication Technician
Work Schedule: Part Time, 24 hours across 3 days
Compensation: $25.19 per hour plus a $2,000 sign-on bonus
Shift Details: NOC shift (11:00 pm - 7:30 am), 8 hours per day, with one weekend shift required
Role Summary:
For over 150 years, the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living has been at the forefront of providing care and services to the aging Jewish community in the Bay Area. Our Assisted Living community, Frank Residences, is designed to embrace and enhance the lives of older adults from all backgrounds. The Medication Technician plays a vital role in overseeing resident care related to medication management, including procurement, administration, and accurate documentation. This position entails comprehensive supervision of the medication room, administration techniques, and the provision of care associated with medication within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update resident charts, ensuring documentation is current, including community forms, licensing documents, physician orders, and incident reports.
- Verify that all medication documentation is accurate and up-to-date, including medication administration records, physician orders (both written and verbal), and change orders. Manage the community's absence medication program.
- Communicate any changes in resident status to the LVN/RN Supervisor, Director of Health & Wellness, and/or Administrator.
- Ensure the medication room is fully stocked with all necessary continuous, PRN, over-the-counter, and prescribed medications as directed by the physician.
- Monitor the use of psychotropic medications to ensure consistency with physician orders, observing resident behaviors to determine the appropriateness of medication use.

Qualifications for Success:
- Preferred completion of a Medication Technician training program
- CPR certification is preferred
- A minimum of six months of experience in long-term care, home care, or a related field
- Ability to read, write, understand, and follow instructions in English, along with basic arithmetic skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office or willingness to learn within 90 days of employment for maintaining accurate documentation of care provided during shifts.
