Job Overview

Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is in search of a skilled Marine Service Technician. This role involves delivering on-site service and support for a variety of marine electrical systems, particularly those associated with diesel and hybrid propulsion systems, hybrid generators, and other electrical and electronic equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for each assignment by reviewing wiring diagrams, schematics, and related specifications to fully understand all requirements before commencing work.
  • Travel to various job sites using a provided vehicle, primarily along the US Gulf Coast, with occasional travel to other regions and infrequent international assignments.
  • Ensure that the company's equipment is installed, wired, and/or plumbed correctly, in accordance with the provided diagrams and specifications.
  • Terminate field wiring, calibrate equipment, and demonstrate proper operation to clients and/or regulatory bodies.
  • Diagnose and repair faulty electronic and mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Utilize provided technology and software to access and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC); report findings and make modifications as directed by the programming team.
  • Maintain accurate time records, generate detailed service reports, and communicate any field changes to the engineering department, ensuring all documentation is completed promptly.
  • When not engaged in field service, assist in the company’s production shop to assemble and/or test various components and systems.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and ensure that company vehicles, tools, and equipment are kept in good condition; work with a focus on quality and detail.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and promote a culture of safety among colleagues.
  • Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to travel to job sites, including overnight and extended stays.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
  • Due to government contractual obligations, only candidates with U.S. Citizenship will be considered.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience, with a strong understanding of electronic and mechanical systems, preferably within the marine sector.
  • Familiarity with PLC logic and programming.
  • Previous electrical experience and training from the Navy or USCG is highly desirable.
  • An associate degree from a technical school or vocational training in electronics is preferred.

The employee must be capable of climbing ladders and working at moderate heights. Good vision and manual dexterity are necessary to manipulate and secure intricate components and wiring.
