KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Qualified candidates must possess the capability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to execute the following tasks:

Recommend diagnostic assessments for adult patients (aged 18 and older) with confirmed or suspected malignancies, blood coagulation issues, or benign or malignant hematological disorders.

Offer treatment options to individuals diagnosed with confirmed malignancies, coagulation disorders, or benign or malignant hematological conditions.
Analyze the outcomes of the conducted tests, including the examination of blood samples.
Communicate and clarify procedures, test outcomes, or prescribed therapies with the patient.
Oversee laboratory results, adherence to medication, potential medication side effects, and treatment outcomes.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


The following tasks are considered supplementary to the primary responsibilities outlined above: Provide clinical and educational instruction to residents, medical students, and staff members.

Represent the practice in Hospital committees, ensuring that the responsibility of attending meetings is equitably shared among all physicians in the group.

Assist in the recruitment and interviewing process for new physicians and staff members.
Participate in Directors' and Committee meetings.
Obtain the necessary Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits and undertake the certification examination to maintain re-certification status.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) accredited by the Accreditation Council on Medical Education.
Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or Board eligibility.
Current medical licensure issued by the relevant state medical board.
Successful completion of a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology.
A healthcare provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs, i.e., not excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid, or any other federal or state health insurance program.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of three (3) years of clinical patient care experience as a specialist (including fellowship experience).

The position requires a high degree of autonomy in thought and problem-solving. The individual must be able to apply principles of logical or scientific reasoning to identify issues.

The individual must be capable of abstract thinking, which is demonstrated by the ability to form concepts, utilize categories, generalize from individual instances, apply procedural rules and general principles, and recognize subtle or intrinsic aspects of a problem.

The development of hypotheses and potential solutions to problems involves careful interpretation, analysis, and diagnosis. The individual must be able to gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The individual must be able to think creatively with a degree of inventiveness, experimentation, and intuition, managing a variety of concrete and abstract variables.
