Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Nurse 2 to join our Radiation Oncology team at the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our nursing practice.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients with cancer and other diseases treated with radiation therapy
- Collaborate with the interprofessional healthcare team to coordinate care across the continuum
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age-appropriate considerations
- Participate in process improvement activities to enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices
- Educate patients and families about healthy practices and treatment modalities
- Demonstrate leadership skills, including guidance, counseling, and mentoring of peers and subordinates
- Participate in the employee performance process and address employee problems, complaints, disputes, or requests as the first level of supervision
- RN licensure issued by the PA Board of Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher level nursing degree
- Completion of the Nurse Residency Program or more than 15 months of practice
- CPR Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support
- ACLS Certification
- A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs
- Oncology certification within 2 years of hire date
- Oncology or Radiation Oncology experience
