Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician III

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician III to join our team at WellSpan Health. As a key member of our behavioral health team, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic interventions and support to our clients.

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Technician III will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to facilitate a stable and smooth operation of the program. You will provide individual, group, and family therapy, utilizing a wide range of techniques designed to treat mental illness, emotional problems, social and interpersonal problems, and functional deficits.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and executing individual treatment plans for clients.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of all therapeutic activities.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy utilizing a wide range of techniques.
  • Maintain an awareness of significant client history, present status, and any precautions in effect.
  • Collaborate with other staff to provide input into treatment plans for individual clients.
  • Orient family members to the nature of therapeutic services and the specific program.
  • Exhibit clinically appropriate relational skills.
  • Manage behavioral crises, including 1:1 observation, redirection, physical restraint, and team crisis interventions.
  • Write behavioral management plans for acute patients in cooperation with treatment team recommendations.
  • Complete assessments as needed.
  • Assist with medication administration and recording as directed.
  • Communicate relevant client progress and participate in weekly treatment team planning.
  • Maintain ongoing professional relationships with personnel from schools, public agencies, and mental health and drug and alcohol treatment facilities.
  • Address and resolve client funding matters.
  • Conduct inter-agency meetings as necessary.
  • Collaborate in appropriate treatment and discharge plans with client, guardians, and community agencies.
  • Provide transportation in a WellSpan Philhaven vehicle to and from the program for clients that meet requirements and are in need of transportation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a clinical discipline, including social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, or activity therapies.
  • 1 year of behavioral health experience or 1 year of social science experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification upon hire.
  • Driver's License upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of current activities, therapy principles, and group counseling skills/techniques.
  • Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Organization and time management.
  • Mental and visual ability to observe client behavior and document findings.
  • Teaching ability.
  • Customer service awareness and capability.
