Job Summary

The Regional Director of Supportive Housing Programs is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of supportive housing programs across various locations. This role requires a strong leader who can ensure the effectiveness and quality of all services, while maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, including program funders and federal government agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Oversight: Responsible for the day-to-day operations and oversight of all programs in all locations.
  • Strategic Planning: Implement change as needed to meet program objectives and customer needs, promoting the success and reputation of the housing programs.
  • Community Engagement: Identify community needs and opportunities for program expansion and growth, pursuing new revenue sources and developing and delivering marketing presentations.
  • Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with funders, referring agencies, supportive services providers, client families, and community collaborations, scheduling periodic meetings and providing ongoing feedback and updates.
  • Staff Management: Supervise direct reports, interview, make quality hiring decisions, train and mentor in best practices, policies, and procedures, monitor performance, document as necessary, provide ongoing feedback, and timely evaluations.
  • Financial Management: Prepare and manage annual program budgets, operate programs in an efficient, cost-effective manner, implement cost containment as needed to stay within budget parameters, and work with the grant writing team to submit contract and grant applications.
  • Professional Development: Stay current in the field of Mental Health, Children's Issues, Homelessness, and related social services, network with other professionals in the field, read related periodicals and websites, attend training to enhance knowledge and training skills, and demonstrate exceptional customer service.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Business, or similar discipline, preferred. Master's degree a plus. Prefer Project Management Professional background/certification.
  • Experience: Prefer 5+ years in an upper-level management position, supervisory experience leading Case Managers, 3+ years developing and managing million-dollar program budgets, and 3+ years experience with those with mental illness, homeless in residential or shelter settings, parenting issues, substance abuse recovery.
  • Skills: Prefer public housing authority background, experience in managing HUD supportive housing contracts, technical E-Snaps, Sage, HMIS, New Project and Renewal Project submissions, and experience/background working with regional housing CoCs, regional or local governmental agencies managing HUD, ESG, CDBG, TCAC, etc.
