The Life Enrichment Director serves as a key member of the Cedar Ranch at Westover Hills leadership team, responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive engagement program that caters to the diverse needs and interests of residents. This role involves supervising a team of staff members who deliver engaging activities, events, and outings that promote physical and cognitive well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Build, support, and direct a high-performing team of engagement coordinators and assistants through effective hiring, training, and coaching.
- Program Development: Develop, implement, and oversee a robust engagement program that meets the needs of all residents, in accordance with Cedar Ranch at Westover Hills guidelines.
- Resident Engagement: Maintain updated Resident Social Profiles for all residents and build a team of volunteers through effective recruiting and training.
- Communication: Maintain excellent communication with families regarding the level and quality of engagement participation of their loved ones, respecting privacy and HIPAA laws.
- Collaboration: Maintain excellent communication and a collaborative relationship with other department heads, co-workers, and corporate partners.
- Technology: Successful use of, and competency with, Cedar Ranch at Westover Hills' data management tools and computer systems.
- Compliance: Support the Executive Director and other department heads in implementing departmental compliance measures.
- Rotating Manager: Rotate manager on duty obligations during scheduled weekends.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of experience working with seniors.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience working with seniors with memory loss and 1 year of experience supervising others.
- Skills: Awareness of the social and emotional needs of seniors, great understanding of dementia and its effects on cognitive functioning, and basic knowledge of computer systems, particularly Outlook and Word.
- Certifications: Valid driver's license and safe driving record; ability to drive community vehicle.
