Incentive Program
We are pleased to offer a recruitment incentive of $5,000 for new Certified Nursing Assistants. This incentive will be distributed in quarterly installments throughout the first year of employment. To qualify, candidates must be new hires to the State of Delaware and commit to two consecutive years of service.
Role Overview
The Nursing Support Specialist will be responsible for delivering essential nursing services, including direct patient care, conducting assessments, and facilitating healthcare services for residents. Regular interaction with patients, families, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals is a key component of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide mentorship and orientation for newly hired or less experienced staff, ensuring tasks are completed effectively.
- Lead therapeutic discussions and activities, including reality orientation and sensory stimulation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to share insights regarding patients' physical conditions and behavioral characteristics.
- Maintain aseptic techniques while assisting individuals with personal hygiene and medical devices.
- Monitor and document vital signs and report any significant changes to professional staff.
- Observe and document patient activities, reporting any unusual behaviors or incidents.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of patients during social and medical activities.
- Implement appropriate interventions to manage challenging behaviors.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a valid Delaware certification as a Nursing Assistant or be eligible for certification.
Additional Information
This position is part of a collective bargaining agreement and is subject to the terms and conditions set forth therein. All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
