Position Overview:

The Information Assurance Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) with Assessment and Authorization processes, ensuring compliance with established cybersecurity protocols and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct ongoing monitoring of all supported systems and networks, identifying and addressing cybersecurity incidents.
  • Develop and implement guidelines and strategies for security incident response, vulnerability assessments, and compliance with cybersecurity mandates.
  • Respond to cybersecurity notifications from relevant service providers, ensuring adherence to security protocols.
  • Provide technical support to facilitate the Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditation process through the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Engage in operational cybersecurity activities, including vulnerability scanning and compliance assessments.
  • Support governance, risk, and compliance efforts by developing policies and procedures relevant to organizational systems and networks.
  • Maintain documentation for security plans and accreditation requirements necessary for network connections.
  • Manage eMASS records, tracking compliance and security control assessments.
  • Participate in the configuration management process, providing security assessments for proposed changes.
  • Analyze vulnerability scan results and coordinate remediation efforts for identified issues.
  • Support incident response procedures for cybersecurity threats and maintain necessary documentation for accreditation.
  • Contribute to status reports covering technical activities and compliance metrics.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; a degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a DoD cybersecurity role.
  • DoD 8570 IAM II certification is mandatory; IAM III certification is preferred.
  • TS/SCI clearance is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in using DoD vulnerability scanning tools and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Experience with security assessments, accreditation processes, and compliance documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating security controls and vulnerability management.
  • Familiarity with current DoD and Army IA policies and procedures.
