The Information Assurance Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) by overseeing Assessment and Authorization processes and Access Only activities in accordance with established guidelines and procedures for Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct continuous monitoring of all supported systems and networks, identifying and addressing cybersecurity incidents.
- Develop comprehensive guidelines and strategies for security incident response, vulnerability assessments, and related cybersecurity activities.
- Respond to cybersecurity notifications from relevant service providers, ensuring compliance and documentation of actions taken.
- Provide technical support to ensure systems meet the necessary requirements for Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditation.
- Engage in operational cybersecurity tasks, including vulnerability scanning and compliance with security standards.
- Support governance, risk, and compliance initiatives by creating relevant plans and policies for systems and applications.
- Maintain essential security documentation, including Tenant Security Plans and Authority to Operate records.
- Manage records and artifacts related to security controls and compliance within the eMASS system.
- Participate in the configuration management process, providing security assessments for proposed changes.
- Oversee the analysis and reporting of continuous monitoring activities across systems and networks.
- Coordinate vulnerability assessments and ensure comprehensive coverage through credentialed scans.
- Analyze and address findings from vulnerability scans, creating plans of action for unresolved issues.
- Support incident response procedures for cybersecurity breaches and related threats.
- Maintain all necessary cybersecurity documentation for accreditation purposes.
- Contribute to regular status reports detailing technical activities and compliance metrics.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's or associate degree preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a DoD IA/Cybersecurity role.
- DoD 8570 IAM II certification required; IAM III certification preferred.
- TS/SCI clearance required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in DoD vulnerability scanning tools and methodologies.
- Experience with application and system assessments and accreditation requirements.
- Familiarity with NIST standards and security control assessments.
- Strong knowledge of current DoD and Army IA policies and procedures.
- Advanced proficiency in common software applications, including word processing and spreadsheets.
