Make a difference in quality assurance

The Quality Assurance Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining and upholding quality standards within the organization. This position involves performing analytical laboratory assessments and collaborating closely with production teams to address quality assurance challenges.

Work Schedule: 4:00am - 4:00pm

Key Responsibilities:


• Comply with all organizational policies and procedures


• Lead and guide quality and food safety initiatives


• Conduct plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) audits and rectify findings on-site


• Execute root cause analysis for quality deviations and manage reporting on holds


• Perform quality assessments for QA programs within the facility


• Ensure adherence to BRC standards through internal audits


• Carry out analytical laboratory calibrations and verifications


• Follow all processes in line with company standard operating procedures, GMP, and compliance with HACCP, GMP, and FFC safety protocols


• Conduct analytical testing in accordance with standardized laboratory methods


• Manage Critical Control Point verifications and confirm compliance with HACCP standards


• Perform packaging inspections during startup and throughout operational shifts


• Conduct thorough changeover inspections utilizing ATP swabs


• Participate in inspections for glass and brittle plastic


• Review in-process documentation to ensure compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)


• Take initiative and propose improvements


• Maintain accountability for full compliance with safety, quality, and other relevant standards


• Undertake additional duties as assigned

Uphold expectations for producing high-quality and food-safe products by adhering to regulatory requirements and fostering a robust quality culture.

Required Skills:


• Proficient in operating basic laboratory equipment


• Knowledge of GMPs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)


• Strong communication abilities


• Confidence in coaching and communication


• Acceptance of peer coaching


• Promotion of teamwork


• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills


• Punctuality and reliability in attendance

Preferred Experience:


• Recent graduates in Food Science, Chemistry, or related fields are highly preferred but not mandatory. A high school diploma or GED is required.


• Familiarity with food processing and safety; experience in the food or pharmaceutical industries; 1 to 3 years of experience in QA/QC roles is preferred


• Knowledge of FSSC ISO 22000 or similar standards
