Position Summary:
The Quality and Compliance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all operations at Standard Fiber meet established quality standards and compliance regulations. This position requires close collaboration with various teams to align production processes with industry standards and customer expectations, implementing effective protocols to enhance service delivery and support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of Quality Control Inspectors.
- Provide training and support to production staff regarding quality standards and evaluations.
Essential Duties:
- Work with sales and production teams to develop and refine production sample processes.
- Analyze target samples to gain a clear understanding of customer specifications.
- Oversee the approval process for all customer samples prior to distribution.
- Establish and maintain Quality Manuals to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections and audits, including:
- Inbound inspections of raw materials and finished products
- Sample, inline, and periodic inspections
- In-store inspections and evaluations
- Develop a performance tracking system for continuous improvement among suppliers.
- Assist in the implementation of testing processes with appropriate documentation.
- Perform necessary tests and self-assessments to uphold quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations and customer vendor guidelines.
- Document and track defects for each purchase order in accordance with AQL standards.
- Utilize best practices for sample inspection, including accurate measurements and functional evaluations.
- Guarantee that all finished products meet specifications through rigorous testing and inspections.
- Initiate rework processes for non-conforming products, ensuring thorough documentation.
- Maintain meticulous records of inspection results, including comprehensive reports and logs.
- Provide assistance on the production line as necessary, including specific tasks such as fluffing and trimming.
- Take responsibility for inline and final inspections to ensure comprehensive quality assurance.
Qualifications:
- Strong sense of accountability, ability to meet deadlines, and effective follow-up skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office365; familiarity with NetSuite is a plus.
- Ability to lead and train teams, especially those new to the industry.
- Understanding of quality and compliance requirements in retail sectors.
- Experience with third-party audit organizations.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in quality and compliance management within the textile industry.
- Experience in implementing Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Bachelor's degree in quality management or equivalent experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Endurance for prolonged periods of standing and mobility.
- Adaptability to various manufacturing environment conditions.
- Manual dexterity for detailed tasks and inspections.
- Willingness to travel between locations as necessary.
