Impactful Role in Quality Assurance

The Quality Assurance Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing quality standards within the organization. This position involves performing analytical laboratory evaluations and collaborating closely with production teams to address quality assurance challenges.

Work Schedule: 4:00am - 4:00pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with all organizational policies and procedures
  • Lead and guide quality and food safety initiatives
  • Conduct plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) audits and rectify findings on-site
  • Analyze root causes of quality deviations and manage reporting on holds
  • Execute quality checks in accordance with QA programs within the facility
  • Ensure adherence to BRC standards through internal audits
  • Perform calibrations and verifications of analytical laboratory equipment
  • Implement processes in line with standard operating procedures, GMP, and safety protocols
  • Conduct analytical testing following established laboratory methods
  • Manage Critical Control Point verifications to confirm compliance with HACCP standards
  • Carry out packaging inspections at the start and throughout the shift
  • Perform thorough changeover inspections using ATP swabs
  • Participate in inspections for glass and brittle plastic
  • Review in-process documentation to ensure compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Proactively suggest improvements and take initiative
  • Maintain full accountability for compliance with safety, quality, and other relevant standards
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned

This role is vital in ensuring the production of high-quality and food-safe products by adhering to regulatory requirements and fostering a robust quality culture.

Relevant Experience

  • Recent graduates in Food Science, Chemistry, or related fields are preferred but not mandatory. A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Familiarity with food processing and safety; experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry; 1-3 years in QA/QC roles within these sectors is preferred.
  • Understanding of FSSC ISO 22000 or similar standards.
