Optical Specialist

As an Optical Specialist, you'll play a vital role in our team, working closely with patients to select, order, and repair frames and lenses. Your expertise will ensure that our patients receive the best possible care, and your passion for delivering exceptional service will make a real difference in their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess inventory and purchase frames and miscellaneous stock as needed.
  • Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner, answering phone calls and assisting with Ophthalmology patients when needed.
  • Set up and maintain office and lab equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct quality control assessments of prescriptions, lenses, frames, and equipment.
  • Meet with frame sales representatives to discuss new products and recommend frames and lenses for patients.
  • Write and send job orders for frames and lenses to the lab, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Perform fittings, adjustments, and repairs of glasses, as well as cutting and mounting lenses.
  • Confirm prescriptions and contact patients when glasses are available for pick-up.
  • Conduct required inventory checks and maintain displays.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance guidelines and ANSI Standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a stressful, multi-tasked environment.
  • Computer experience preferred.
