Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Technician to join our team at Cook & Boardman. As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining wireless access points, electrified door hardware, access control panels, analog and IP cameras, camera servers (NVR), power supplies, cable pathway systems, and various structured cabling systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and terminate structured cabling systems, including copper, fiber, and low-voltage cables
  • Install network switches, wireless access points, and other IP devices
  • Install various CCTV systems, including analog and IP cameras
  • Install NVRs and VMS platforms
  • Install cable pathway systems
  • Test, label, and document cables
  • Learn installation best practices from Lead Technicians
  • Work in a team environment with project managers, lead technicians, and other field technicians
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Current and continued certification in at least one VMS system
  • Current and continued certification in at least one structured cabling system
  • At least one year's experience as an Installer or equivalent position
  • Pass a background check and drug screen
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of networking principles, IP camera technology, controller hardware, door hardware, and credential technologies
  • Ability to terminate and test category cable and fiber optic cable
  • Basic knowledge of low-voltage principles (ohm's law, load calculations, metering, etc.)
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, line diagrams, and specifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customer representatives in the field
Work Environment

This position requires frequent heavy lifting and may involve working in variable weather conditions. The worker may be exposed to forklifts or other heavy machinery and will be required to use various tools and hardware.
