Compensation and Benefits:
During the initial license training, total compensation ranges from $159,000 to $182,000 annually (based on experience and prior license status), including a 15% annual incentive bonus, an initial sign-on bonus, and a $10,000 bonus distributed through training milestones. A comprehensive benefits package and a 401(k) plan with employer matching are also provided.
Upon obtaining the SRO license, total compensation increases to approximately $191,000 per year, including a 15% annual incentive bonus and additional pay for extended hours worked.
Additional benefits include comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, and vision), a bonus program, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, an employee stock purchase program, paid vacations and holidays, an educational reimbursement program, and an employee referral program.
Job Summary:
While training to obtain an NRC License, the initial license trainee will participate in a blend of classroom instruction, simulator training, and hands-on experience to develop the essential skills and knowledge required for qualification as a Senior Reactor Operator License holder.
Upon successful completion of the qualification process, the candidate will be fully licensed by the NRC to oversee the operations of the reactor control room.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct oversight of Constellation’s Nuclear Power Generating Station operations, including directing Reactor Operators in managing plant operations and Equipment Operators in field operations, procedure adherence, and tagging processes.
Authorize maintenance and testing activities to ensure equipment status is accurately maintained.
Implement Emergency Operating Procedures and guide the necessary procedural steps to stabilize the plant following emergencies or abnormal conditions.
Evaluate and address issues, findings, open items, and requests from both internal and external sources.
Oversee special projects as designated by the Operations Director or Operations Managers.
Review and revise Emergency Operating Procedures and Abnormal Operating Procedures to support the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the Nuclear Generating Station Units.
Conduct reviews of design and license changes for procedural impacts, perform 10CFR50.59 applicability reviews, and support outages and various special projects.
Review system documentation, including P&ID and design descriptions, and provide operability assessments for systems during off-normal conditions.
Assist in developing refueling sequences and ensure systems are capable of accommodating shutdown and refueling operations.
Direct operating shift personnel in executing plant duties, including standing watch on rotating 12-hour shifts and coordinating the operation of the nuclear power plant's systems.
Shift work, continuous training with periodic examinations, respirator qualification, and maintaining qualification as a member of the plant Fire Brigade are essential requirements for this position.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of the Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) and Basic Math and Science Test (BMST) pre-employment assessments.
Completion of a FLS Leadership Assessment.
Must meet or exceed one of the following:
- 1 year of Reactor Operator license at a comparable facility or 1.5 years at a non-comparable facility.
- 1.5 years or more in a position equivalent to Reactor Operator (or Supervisor) at a military reactor.
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) or equivalent in engineering, engineering technology, or physical sciences, or a professional engineer license, with more than 1.5 years as a qualified non-licensed operator or a supervisor or manager in relevant fields.
