POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is a full-time exempt position dedicated to overseeing the network operations within the organization. The Network Engineer will manage the Network Team's activities, ensuring seamless communication architecture and exercise support plans are in place.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Network Engineer will serve as the primary architect for communication systems, collaborating with external agencies and various internal departments. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and establishing comprehensive communication frameworks.
  • Coordinating communication strategies and configuring necessary equipment.
  • Assisting in the installation of equipment and circuitry to support training exercises.
  • Overseeing the distribution of data, voice, and video conferencing across both local and wide area networks, ensuring compliance with classified and unclassified standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Network Management or a related discipline, coupled with at least 8 years of experience in network architecture and implementation.
  • Proficiency in planning, troubleshooting, and maintaining systems on Microsoft server platforms, as well as expertise in configuring CISCO routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • A solid understanding of technology integration, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, security protocols, storage solutions, and backup strategies.
  • Familiarity with specific product lines such as Cisco, Fujitsu, and Hewlett Packard.
  • Possession of an Information Assurance Technical II (IAT II) certification in accordance with DoD standards.
  • A Top-Secret clearance is required, with consideration for candidates holding a Secret clearance.
  • Certification in computing environments (e.g., CCENT, CCNA, CCNP) must be achieved within six months of employment.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and supporting Cisco hardware is essential.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Network Management or a related field.
  • Certification in Security+, Network+, and CCNA is mandatory.
