POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is a full-time exempt position focused on supporting mission training operations. The Network Engineer is responsible for overseeing the network operations of the Network Team. This includes coordinating all elements of the communications framework and exercise support strategies with communications planners from various simulation facilities, the Network Enterprise Center, and tactical units involved.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Network Engineer will serve as the primary communications architect for the mission training complex, ensuring effective coordination with external agencies and other branches. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and establishing the communications architecture.
  • Coordinating communications strategies and configuring necessary equipment.
  • Assisting in the installation of equipment and circuitry to support distributed training exercises.
  • Managing all facets of the communications architecture and exercise support plans.
  • Planning for the distribution of data, voice, and video teleconferencing across both local and wide area networks in classified and unclassified environments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position involves working in an office setting, with occasional outdoor exposure to various environmental conditions. Candidates should be capable of lifting equipment weighing 25 lbs or more, depending on the task.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard work week is Monday through Friday, with hours subject to change based on mission requirements. Overtime may be necessary, and travel may be required.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is between $77,000 and $85,000 annually.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a BA or BS degree in Network Management or a related discipline, along with at least 8 years of experience in network architecture design and implementation.
  • Advanced skills in planning, troubleshooting, and maintaining Microsoft server platforms, as well as configuring CISCO routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Strong understanding of technology integration and information flow, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, security, storage, and backup methodologies.
  • Familiarity with specific product lines such as Cisco, Fujitsu, Hewlett Packard, and Tripwire.
  • Possession of an Information Assurance Technical II (IAT II) baseline certificate as per DoD requirements.
  • A Top-Secret clearance is required, with consideration for those holding a Secret clearance.
  • Achievement of computing environment (CE) certification within 6 months of employment.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and supporting Cisco hardware.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of a BA or BS in Network Management or a related field.
  • Certification in Security +, Network +, or CCNA is mandatory.
