POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is a full-time exempt position, providing support for a major training complex. The Network Engineer is responsible for overseeing the network operations of the Network Team. This includes coordinating all elements of the communications framework and exercise support strategies with communications planners from various simulation facilities and tactical units.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Network Engineer will serve as the primary communications architect for the training complex, ensuring effective coordination with external agencies and other branches. Responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and maintaining the communications architecture.
  • Coordinating comprehensive communications plans.
  • Configuring and installing communications equipment.
  • Assisting in the setup of equipment and circuitry for distributed training exercises.
  • Managing data, voice, and video teleconferencing distribution over both local and wide area networks in classified and unclassified modes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position involves both an office setting and occasional outdoor conditions. Candidates should be prepared for varying environmental conditions across different locations. Physical requirements include the ability to lift equipment weighing 25 lbs or more.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard workweek is Monday through Friday, with hours subject to mission requirements. Overtime and travel may be necessary as needed.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is between $77,000 and $85,000 annually.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a BA or BS degree in Network Management or a related discipline, along with at least 8 years of experience in network architecture design and implementation.
  • Advanced skills in planning, troubleshooting, and maintaining Microsoft server platforms, as well as CISCO router, switch, and firewall configurations.
  • Strong understanding of technology integration, information flow, and security protocols.
  • Familiarity with specific product lines including Cisco, Fujitsu, and Hewlett Packard.
  • Possession of an Information Assurance Technical II (IAT II) baseline certificate as per DoD standards.
  • A Top-Secret clearance is required, although candidates with a Secret clearance may also be considered.
  • Certification in computing environments (e.g., CCENT, CCNA, CCNP) must be achieved within six months of employment.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and supporting Cisco hardware is essential.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA or BS in Network Management or a related field is required.
  • Certifications in Security +, Network +, and CCNA are mandatory.
