POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is a full-time exempt position responsible for overseeing network operations within the organization. The Network Engineer will lead the Network Team, ensuring seamless communication architecture and exercise support plans are effectively coordinated with various stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Network Engineer will serve as the primary communications architect, managing coordination with external agencies and different branches within the organization. Responsibilities include:
- Developing and establishing comprehensive communications architecture.
- Coordinating and implementing communication strategies.
- Configuring communication devices and assisting in the installation of equipment and circuitry to support distributed training exercises.
- Managing all aspects of communications architecture and exercise support plans in collaboration with other simulation facilities and tactical units.
- Planning for the distribution of data, voice, and video teleconferencing across both local and wide area networks in classified and unclassified environments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of a BA or BS degree in Network Management or a related discipline, along with at least 8 years of experience in network architecture design and implementation.
- Proficient in advanced planning, troubleshooting, and maintenance on Microsoft server platforms and Cisco router, switch, and firewall configurations.
- Strong understanding of technology integration, information flow, and methodologies related to LAN/WAN, firewalls, security, storage, and backup.
- Familiarity with specific product lines such as Cisco, Fujitsu, Hewlett Packard, and Tripwire.
- Possession of an Information Assurance Technical II (IAT II) baseline certification in accordance with DoD requirements.
- A Top-Secret clearance is required, with consideration for candidates holding a Secret clearance.
- Achievement of computing environment (CE) certification within six months of employment.
- Experience in troubleshooting and supporting Cisco hardware is essential.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of a BA or BS in Network Management or a related field.
- Certification in Security+, Network+, or CCNA is mandatory.
